Pink Carpet Event: Post By CRAVE Founder and CEO, Kam Talebi

I am incredibly honored and excited to announce that on May 11^th, CRAVE Downtown is rolling out the pink carpet to host the inaugural Pink Carpet Event. The event is a benefit for the Minnesota affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure to celebrate the 20^th anniversary of Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure.

Guests of the inaugural celebration will enjoy spectacular food, complimentary bar service, music, dancing, and a fashion presentation of custom pink looks created by top local designers and produced by Ignite Models.

This event was created out of a passion to pursue a cure and provide a premier social engagement for those wanting to help join the fight. For the past 3 years, CRAVE CARES has been honored to be a part of the race weekend by providing the pre-race dinner. We’re thrilled to expand our involvement this year to include the Pink Carpet Event in honor of the 20^th Anniversary.

Because of my families’ personal experience with breast cancer, Susan G. Komen has always had a special place in our hearts. In 1979 our family came to America to seek medical treatment at the Mayo Clinic for our mother, Shahnaz, who had been diagnosed with breast cancer and was given only a few months to live. But our mother was a fighter. Over the next ten years she continued her treatments suffering through reoccurrences of the cancer before it went into complete remission.

Our mother is an absolute miracle – a true survivor and an inspiration to our entire family. We created the Pink Carpet Event in her honor, and for all of those survivors and their families who are dedicated to finding the Cure.
