CRAVE Cincinnati at The Banks had the opportunity to host our first event with the Cincinnati Chamber- and believe it or not, it was a speed networking event! So many connections, so little time! Many people are aware or have heard of speed dating, but the Cincinnati Chamber put a little spin on things and hosted this business-oriented version. Being the first speed dating event I’ve attended, I had no idea what to expect. Luckily, a few of the attendees who trickled in early were in the same boat as me, which immediately put me more at ease.

CRAVE speed datingWe started with a brief introduction by Laurie Brinkman of the Cincinnati Chamber, and with the ring of a bell we were off and the networking was in full swing! I’ve never had so many conversations with so many people, which made me really thankful that the CRAVE team had placed glasses of ice water on the table :) The speed networking event was set up so each individual had 90 seconds to converse before moving on to the next new business connection. I was so impressed with how Laurie and her team ran the event; It was so well organized and the allotted time was perfect to maximize your contacts and meet twice as many individuals in half the time. Before we knew it, the hour and a half flew by and we were back to where we started, but with my pile of business cards down to nothing!

CRAVE provided delicious appetizers once we were finished, and all the participants definitely talked up an appetite! I met so many great people from so many different industries. It was a wonderful experience, and I’m already looking forward to the next Chamber mixer. Thank you to everyone who came down to participate, and to the Cincinnati Chamber for inviting us to host our first event!

Hi CRAVE'rs! My name is Emily Oscarson, and I am the Marketing Manager for CRAVE Cincinnati. I am a Cincinnati native (I know what you're going to ask- and the answer is Wyoming High School). When it comes to my favorite things, I stick to the three basic F's: food, fashion, and funny cats. When I'm not at the restaurant or mingling at one of our marketing events, you can find me coaching volleyball at my alma mater or training for marathons to raise money for charity. I love my job because I have a slight obsession with this amazing city, so being able to work closely with the community is a dream come true!
