The Event:

On Wednesday, April 11th CRAVE hosted a Chef’s Tasting Dinner at CRAVE West End location for it’s online fans. It was a smashing success!

It started a few weeks back when CRAVE’s Executive Chef Eli Wollenzien came to me and told me he had created over 20 new items for the CRAVE menu and was excited to share this with our online fans. We started brainstorming and concluded the best way to reward our online fans for their support, while simultaneously getting good feedback on some of these new items was to host an event.

The Fans:

I started posting invitations to apply to this event on our Facebook page and in our Twitter feed about 10 days before it began. We received approximately 200 requests to ‘join the table’ so to speak. We put the names in a bowl and drew 15 out. We invited these 15 people in to join us and encouraged them to bring a guest. We ended up with 30 people in attendance.

I welcomed the group, then brought out Chef Eli to explain the menu…let the fun begin. We had seated the people in groups of 6 to offer a more social setting and set it up as a ‘buffet style’ tasting, but they could view the actual plated items on a table at the back of the room.

The Help:

The servers were Ashley and Danielle, two of our best servers at CRAVE. They were quick to get the drinks flowing and worked tirelessly for 2 hours to make sure these people had a great time. Mike Herman, Marketing Manager at CRAVE, was also there to help make sure the event went off without a hitch. If you haven’t met Mike yet,  be sure say hello if you ever have the chance. He’s a fantastic guy. Mike and I kidded about watching all the CRAVE fans try all this spectacular food that no one else at CRAVE has even seen yet let alone tried. The staff was just a tad jealous!

The Food:

The people were both grateful and appreciative. It was truly a wonderful group. As a matter of fact, the last thing Eli said to me was, “We should organize something like this more often”. I agreed. Thanks to everyone who came this event and shared their feedback with us. This feedback is what helps make CRAVE the best it can be.

Take a look at some of the food from that night and drop me an email if you’d like to be notified when the next event is being held.

  1. I have been to Crave many times and have never had a bad experience, either with the food or the service. Danielle (St. Louis Park) has been our server many times and she is always quick to offer the drink order and follows-up promptly with the food selection. Crave should be proud to have such a professional staff on board. Thank you.

  2. Thanks so much for your feedback about Danielle! We agree. She’s one of our best and we’re happy you shared your experience with us! We will pass along your praise for Danielle to the team.
