CRAVE And Race For The Cure
Every year, CRAVE teams up with many local organizations for good through our CRAVE Cares program. This program recognizes the importance of working with our neighbors in each location to help lend support to organizations who sacrifice their time and effort to help those who are in situations that are less fortunate. Throughout the last several years, I have been lucky enough to be involved with some great organizations. This post is about one in specific that we have gotten to know well over the past few years: Susan G Komen Race for the Cure.
All Susan G Komen does is be the global leader of the breast cancer movement, having invested more than $1.9 BILLION since inception in 1982). They have brought together crowds of over 40,000 here in Minnesota and inspired millions more nationwide. In other words, they’re kind of a big deal.
This year, CRAVE was lucky enough to partner with Susan G Komen on a number of great events put on yearly (CRAVE Cares Pre-Race Dinner, Race Day) as well as new events. I was lucky enough to be a part of each, and have the photos to prove it!
The most visible of each of the events was easily Race Day. The day began at 5am with my trusted team of Carter Jensen, Blair Fraedrich (Hotel Program Coordinator/Social Media Assistant) and of course Chef CRAVE! The three of us set up several tables full of CRAVE Cares information and goodies for Race Day participants. We even had the CRAVE Van on site!
At 7am, the event began and we were soon lost in a sea of pink. It was inspiring to see such a big turnout for the cause. Everyone was decked out in the best attire, some ranging from creative to downright crazy (pink Mohawk picture)!
By the end of the day, we were able to mingle, take pictures with, and get to know over 37,000 attendees. Add in some beautiful weather, and it’s easy for me to say that this was a memorable event!
We appreciate our partnership with Susan G Komen, and look forward to partnering with them for years to come!
